Dr. Alexandra Potts

Dr. Alexandra Potts is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice

degrees from Montana State University. She additionally completed a rural

telepsychiatry psychiatric nurse practitioner residency training program with the Medical University of South Carolina. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Nursing with Duquesne University. Her current research interests lie in the relationship between disordered eating and weight control in victims of unwanted sexual contact, abuse, and violence and in occupational mental health. She also works as an adjunct faculty preparing the next generation of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.

Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Dr Potts has training and experience working with patients and families across the lifespan providing multiple psychotherapy modalities and psychiatric medication management services. She genuinely enjoys and feels honored to be apart of patients’ journey to improve their mental health and is continually inspired by her patients and other colleagues in the field.

During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, pups and kitties, and family and friends. She loves to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
